Members of our leadership team have extensive experience in public safety and security management. Their hands-on involvement enhances our supervisory capabilities and ensures reliability and accountability for our clients.

Ed Simmons — President

Ed Simmons provides overall leadership and guides the vision of SP Plus® Security Services. He also heads the Western Division of parent company Standard Parking Corporation. He has more than 35 years' experience in real estate management, leasing, architectural review, project feasibility and due diligence review. Previously, he was president of Silverado Security, a private patrol company serving Southern California.

Simmons is an executive board member and past president of the Parking Association of California. He also is a member of BOMA, the Institute of Real Estate Management, the International Parking Institute and the National Parking Association.

Randall Ely — Senior Vice President

Randall Ely spearheads the development and administration of SP Plus® Security Services. He is responsible for contract negotiations, client relations and service operations. Ely has more than 25 years’ experience in public safety operations, business management and business ownership. Previously, Ely was executive vice president and COO of Langner Security Service in Southern California.

Ely holds an MBA and a bachelor’s degree in business administration and management from the University of Redlands in California. He is a former member of the adjunct faculty of California State University-Long Beach.

Currently, Ely is the regional vice president for Region III of the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS), and he is a founding member of the LEAPS program (Law Enforcement and Private Security) in Los Angeles.
